Batman rushes into a well to save a drowning girl. Batman can not gather the strength required to move a large item that leads to the girl, and the girl drowns. Taking responsibility for the girl's death, Batman confronts the girl's father. The father, who does not seem to be in mourning, offers Batman help so that this can never happen again. He offers Batman a pill that he is working on that will increase his strength. Batman accepts since he does not want someone else to die due to his lack of strength.
